Happy Friday Lovers!!

So, since it seems I've been blogging for 2 straight days, I figured I'd keep the momentum going and share a few cards I made earlier in the week.  But before I do, I would like to say that I am not a professional!!

I've just learned that there are bloggers/crafters who actually (get this) have crafting online resumes!!  WTH??  When did that happen??  And where have I been for the past 5 years??  I am in awe of how deep this area of work goes.  I started with just a small cart, paper, glue, stickers and scissors and now I find myself trying to make money just so I could catch up to everything that I've been coming across that I've missed out on.  Including copics & images!!  I know I'll never be able to catch up to all the neck-deep pros, but I'm thankful that I have a set of basic skills and time that allows me to play with all my yummy goodies!!  

With that being said, I will share my very humble cards (one of which my husband didn't like too much, and I agreed - lol) and hopefully they will bring a smile/smirk to your face.  (I'll take it for the right or wrong reasons... lol).

Every week (and it seems everyday) I receive emails/newsletters from a company called MFT Stamps.  They have a huge array of products, very few of which I own.  I have not had the pleasure of investing in their stamps yet, but do hope to do so in the future.  (aka, by the end of the year).  In any case, the card challenge that was presented seemed odd, yet interested to me.  I decided I would take on the challenge and try my best to create a card that seems right.  I was happy with the result.  I would have entered it into the challenge, but I'm afraid I didn't use any of their products.  lol.

I started by coloring one of the trio Anya girls that come in the "Rain Snow Shine" Greeting Farm stamp set.  When I purchased this set I didn't think I'd ever use that particular stamp "Shine", but ironically it's the first one of the pack that I actually dared to color.  I say dare because if you see the amount of gorgeously (yeah, that's a word!) colored cards that I've seen, you'd be intimidated too!!  

I used paper from SEI's "Spring All Over" pad, a few different punches and Recollections embellishments.  I hope you like the end result.

When I begin making cards I don't first pick the colors / pattern paper and then match the stamp to the scheme, what I do is first color the image and then find paper to match the stamp.  Seems easy, but it's terribly difficult.  And maybe the way I do it makes it harder?, but in my brain it's easier.  I have a limited supply of copic markers and to be at a level where I can pick paper and then match the colors would mean I'd have to shed a few hundreds of dollars and have a nice huge collection.  But since that's not the case (YET), I opt for finding my way around little dilemmas.  I started with an ice cream cone sheet of paper by Echo Park's Summer Days and it did NOT look right behind the image.  So I had to redo the entire card completely (which is why it seems so thick) then try to correct all the design flaws.  LOL.  I guess the fact that we saw the card when it was "ugly" has jaded our acceptance of it's new beauty.  Maybe you'll enjoy it and if you do leave a comment and tell me why.  In seven days, I will choose 1 comment (via Random.org) and the winner will get the card (blank inside) with my signature on the back to use however they please.  =)  You can think of it as a "freebie" and I'll think of it as "getting rid of the ugly one".  LOL.
