Winter JOY.

When I first saw this "Choose Joy" Paper Issues free cut file, I knew the exact photo and collection I would be pairing it with.  Sometimes making a layout happens by accident.  Sometimes we envision something silly late at night, right between cloud 1 and 3.  And sometimes we find immediate inspiration by merely browsing the PI Shop.

I used my favorite Crate Paper Christmas collection "Snow And Cocoa", and one of my favorite photos of my lil 3 year old boy playing with fake snow on his way to meet Santa at the mall.  Later I thought I "needed" to use a more recent Christmas photo, but it just didn't sit right in the circle; so I kept my initial idea.  I first glued the paper behind the cut file.  I knew where I wanted to place the fussy cut snowmen and the ephemera, prior to making the cross-stitch marks.  I hand-sewed a straight stitch over JOY, then glued down JOY to the paper.  I then made the cross-stitch holes and did more hand sewing.  The background was made with mint spray, white gesso and a stencil.  I absolutely adore how this came out and I'm so happy I was able to pull off what my 3am brain dreamt.

The shop is fully stocked with this collection.
You will find everything from stamps, paper, cardstock stickers, photo frames and pom poms.
